May 22nd, 2010

Knox County and the City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation departments are partnering with Legacy Parks Foundation to present the GetOut! series of activities to provide fun recreational activities that encourage healthy lifestyles while enjoying the natural resources of our area.  Activities are scheduled throughout the month of June for anyone interested in beginning or continuing biking, hiking, or paddling.

Bike rides, both on community greenways and mountain bike trails, hikes in community parks, and river paddles from both west Knox County and downtown locations are the types of activities scheduled.

A $10 donation to Legacy Parks Foundation is suggested for each activity, and registration is encouraged. (Registration for the river paddles is required, in order to plan for the correct number of boats.) Registration and general information is available by calling 541-4500, or on line at www.legacyparks.org.
